Kayode Awojobi ,indigene of Okeho and a broadcast journalist with OOU92.1FM, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State has won the Listener’s Choice Award (Male category) at the just concluded Primus Media Awards, 2023
Ogun State Listeners Choice Award (Male) is for the most popular young male presenter on the radio space of Ogun state.
This category is solely determined by popularity, based on the number of votes cast. Voting was FREE to ensure a deserving winner is chosen and Kayode Awojobi won the category with 30.2% with his closest rival having 24.5%.
In this same award, Awojobi was nominated for best newscaster Yoruba and Most Eloquent Presenter category.
Primus Media Awards focused on broadcasters between the ages of 21-30 in the south western part of Nigeria.
With his career in broadcasting getting closer to a decade, Awojobi also draws up experience spanning, journalism, writing, media relations, advertising.
He has honed his skills as a Duty Continuity Announcer, Newscaster, Media Associate, Associate Editor, News Editor and On Air Personality.
He is one of the contributors to 3rd Chinua Achebe Poetry and Essay Anthology published in 2019 and Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi Poetry and Essay Anthology published in 2020.
He holds a Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria.
He is a writer, bilingual poet, public speaker, essayist. He has published several public affairs articles online and in major national dailies in Nigeria since 2015. He has worked with reputable media organizations, such as Radio Nigeria, which is the largest radio network in Africa.
