The Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) has informed intending pilgrims from the state for the 2024 Hajj exercise that the fare would cost them the sum of Four Million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira (₦4.9M) only. This announcement was contained in a release by the Chairman of the Board, Sheikh AbdulWahab Hashim Atere at a meeting with stakeholders and intending pilgrims at the State Hajj Camp, Olodo, Ibadan.
According to Sheik Atere, intending pilgrims who deposited ₦4.5M or below as earlier announced by the Board should complete their payments on or before the fixed Monday 12th February deadline. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) previously announced a final Hajj fare for intending pilgrims. The rport advised that intending pilgrims from Nigeria’s Southern center will pay N4,899,000, those from the Northern center will pay N4,699,000, while those from Yola and Maiduguri center will pay N4,679,000 for the 2024 Hajj before the given deadline.
The Chairman of the Board enjoined those interested in the pilgrimage for the year 2024 to make payments quickly to maximize the opportunity given before the deadline announced elapses. He further advised intended pilgrims to make payments through any of the official bank accounts affiliated with the Board.
Intended pilgrims were previously advised to visit the Board’s Olodo office or its annex situated within the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) premises, Ile-Akede, Oríta-Bashorun Ibadan, for urgent clarifications.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Oyo State Government led by Engineer Seyi Makinde for the support the Hajj Board has enjoyed since he was recently appointed as the Board’s Chairman.
