In my entire journalistic career, I have never found it so difficult writing a tribute. But for the past 365 days, since the unfortunate death of MatKay ( Mathew Olaegbe) was announced, I have not been able to write one for him.
Apart from the fact that each time I pick up my pen to write, I become emotional, I have also had difficulties choosing the right words for MatKay.
He was more than amazing. He was one man who believed so much in me and assisted me in all my endeavors, since I finished my NYSC.
From media and events to farming and even when I ventured into Real Estate, Olaegbe was always there. He was one of my secret weapons.
The last time I saw him in my dream, he was taller and having fun with the Ancestors…Adieu Matkay, My Chairman Forever
