Governor Seyi Makinde has once again solicited for the support of the people of Oyo State as he seeks to improve the state’s economic fortunes.
The governor made this plea in his message to the people of the state as he echoed the plans of his administration to make bold moves to improve the lives of the citizens and residents of Oyo state.
Makinde enjoined all and sundry to remain resilient and continue to support his administration’s efforts which according to him is aimed at “the recovery of the state’s economy.”
He further encouraged unity in the ranks especially between the people and the government for smooth enforcement of the rule of law. This he clarified would help investments in the state thrive when the people of the state functioned under a lawful and orderly environment.
“We urge you to work with us as we seek to bring sanity to the state by implementing the rule of law. It will be impossible to enforce laws without stepping on toes.
Reiterating this point, he continued; “I urge us all to see the bigger picture – a State where investors and tourists will be happy to come to and live because they know that they can feel safe and secure.”
Governor Makinde mentioned some of the ongoing road projects in the state to be completed during the course of 2024 to include the 76km Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso Road, the 36km Ido-Eruwa Road and the construction of other feeder roads.
He boasted about his administration intention to drive the economy of the state by leveraging on state resources in various sectors particularly the mining, and tourism sectors. He highlighted the state’s plan to exploit the solid minerals sector for revenue generation and the proposed completion of the state’s first Independent Power Project (IPP).
According to the governor; “we look forward to welcoming more industries into our dear State as we will commission the pilot Fasola agribusiness industrial hub and start work on the Eruwa Agribusiness industrial hub.”
“We believe that by following this economic blueprint, with God on our side and your support, our administration will continue to put our dear State on the map for all the right reasons,” Governor Makinde remarked.
