The Onjo of Okeho land HRM OBA Dr Abdul Rafiu Osuolale Mustapha Adeiitan II has expressed appreciation to the law enforcement officers stationed in Okeho and its environs serving Kajola local government. At an event he likened to the 15 January Army remembrance day held annually at the same venue, the retired Customs officer heaped praises on law enforcement agents in his domain.While praising all divisions of the town’s security apparatus without exemption, he commended the Divisional Police Officer of Okeho Police station, DPO Oyedeji for the laudable get together which was the first of its kind in Okeho. He underscored the sacrifice of law enforcement officers, mentioning how they can be transferred to distant locations within short notice. While clarifying that this sacrifice is the price they pay to fulfill the oath they took to serve, the royal father prayed for the safety of every law enforcement officer within and outside his domain.The first class Oba commended the DPO for all his efforts in Okeho which according to him was responsible for the peace that is currently being experienced in Okeho. He gave kudos to the men of the Western Nigeria Security Network popularly known as Amotekun for their unwavering security support. The Onjo equally expressed his gratitude to the DPO of Ilero police station who was represented by his Divisional Crime Officer. Kabiyesi described the relationship between the DPOs of Okeho and Ilero as cordial and one of unity which continues to manifest itself in the peace and harmony both towns have been experiencing.He lauded the effectiveness of the law enforcement officers as he recalled the security scare of December 2023 when there was panic in Okeho due to an unverifiable threat of war from unknown invaders. Describing the swift action of the town’s security apparatus;”All borders within Kajola local government were occupied for every 24 hours of the day by security officers”, he recalled.This security patrol coupled with the traditional moves made from the palace secured Okeho during this period, and averted any impending threat whether real or otherwise according to the Kabiyesi.He encouraged the people of the town to be security conscious, and to alert law enforcement agencies once they have information pertaining to the security and defense of Okeho or Kajola local government. He also prayed against bloodshed and tragic events in Kajola local government. While offering prayers for the new year, the king prayed for the commencement of the reconstruction and rehabilitaion of the Okeho-Igana expressway which is currently in a most sorry state. He spoke regretfully on how the sorry state of this road has negatively affected the economy of Okeho for too long.Finally he tasked parents especially the mothers to closely monitor, and pay more attention to the upbringing of their children as the foundation is what shapes their future.According to him, “failure to monitor these children closely at an early age is what directs them to terrible habits like drug addiction.”Representatives of various security outfits were present at the event.
