The Oyo State House of Assembly Committee on Security has invited the Nigerian Customs Service, Oyo State Command on Tuesday, to unravel the mystery behind the unprovoked attack that led to the killing of Olanrewaju Quadri, who was shot by a trigger-happy Customs officer during a patrol.
The patrolling Customs officials killed Quadri while others sustained various degrees of injuries in a callous act that took place on Friday, June 23rd, at Iwere-Ile, Iwajowa local government area of Oyo state.
The Oyo State Zonal Controller General of Customs, Mr Jayeoba B. led O C Customs, Iwere-Ile Zonal Office, Mr C.K Awogbemi and other officers before the security committee of the Assembly.
Speaking, Hon. Tony Ogunsola, representing Iwajowa State Constituency noted that the house is on top of the situation while working hard to unravel both remote and immediate causes of the unprovoked attack.
According to him, “We shall not rest until justice prevails on the incident. I also wish to appeal to our people to continue to go on their normal businesses and remain peaceful. The House is working towards ensuring that similar incidence is not repeated and justice is served”.
