Hon. Shina Oyedeji Representing Iseyin, Kajola, Iwajowa and Itesiwaju federal constituency has been appointed by the leadership of the Federal House of Representatives as the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Ecological Funds.
This was according to the list of leaderships of various standing committees announced on the floor of the house by the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass.
The Ecological fund is an intervention Fund by the Federal Government to address the multifarious ecological challenges in various communities across the Country.
The Fund was established in 1981 through the Federation Account Act of 1981.The Fund constitutes 1% of the Federation Account and it is known as Derivation and Ecology Fund.
The Prime objective of the initiative was to have a pool of fund that would be solely devoted to the funding of ecological projects to mitigate serious ecological problems.
Some analyst says that with Hon. Oyedeji appointment as the Deputy Chairman of this committee, it’s an answered prayer for Ifo Ere on Okeho Iganna road an ecologically devastated site on a major road that links two out of four local governments in his constituency, Kajola and Iwajowa.
