The Director of National Open University, Okeho Study Center Mr. Isaac Olujimi has shed light on why pioneer staff of the center have not being paid any salary since their employment.
Speaking with OkehoNews reporter in Okeho, Olujimi says that the staff employment have not been approved by the Headquarters of the University hence they are not yet staff of the National Open University of Nigeria.
He explained further that what happens in other communities where the University have centers is that the community take up the welfare of the staff pending the approval of their employment by the Headquarters of the institution.
The Director also lament that in other community staff are paid about N20,000 a month to each staff but Okeho community has only paid N5,000 naira each only to the staff since inception.
He used the opportunity to call on the community not to withdraw their support for the center now that it has taken off. He called for more patronage of the school by the community and the neighboring communities.
