There was a mammoth crowd at the palace of Onjo of Okeho,the venue of installation of Seriki Hausawan of Okeho,Alhaji Uba Shittu Danbaba by His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr) Rafiu Osuolale Mustapha (Adeitan II) on June 8th 2023.
The Opening prayer was said by Sheik Rasheed Bello Imam of Okeho Chief Totoola Sulaimon and his chiefs.
After the Islamic prayer session in both Yoruba,and Hausa language,His Royal Majesty Oba Rafiu Mustapha bestowed the Royal blessings on Hadji Uba who is the newly appointed Sarkin-Hausawan of Okeho that ‘as you have been appointed as the leader of Hausa in Okeho, you must not overshadow your Yoruba Landlord especially your co-contestant, I honoured you because Your fore-fathers was the first Hausa that came to Okeho in late 40s and since then your lineages had married our daughter and built house in Okeho. Your family also contribute to development of Okeho business.
As we are all Nigerians we must learn to tolerate one another, we must live together as brother and embrace peaceful co-existence with ourselves be you, Yoruba, Fulani or Igbo we are all Nigerians.
Oba Osuolale charged the Family of the Sarkin-Hausawan and entire Hausa community in the town to cooperate and join hand with newly installed Sarkin, added that the co-contestant to be patient because life is turn by turn and he advised them to support Uba in order to have peaceful reign. He also advised the new Sarkin Hausa to make his door open to other.
The Monarch also stated that the new Sarkin-Hausawan Alhaji Uba for being lucky man to have been choosen by him. He urged him to work together with both Yoruba and Hausa for peaceful co-existence that will foster harmony and prosperity.
The Chairman Kajola Traditional Council sought the opportunity to appealed to the Governor of Oyo state, His Excellent Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde. to rehabilitated Okeho/Iganna Road.
The new Sarkin-Hausawan while speaking with Okeho news reporter after the turbaning ceremony appreciated the Kabieesi and his Baale and chiefs, promised to cooperate with them for the upliftment of Okeho land.
Alhaji Uba Shittu Danbaba was born about 55years ago in Okeho though his father hailed from kastina state and her mother is bonafide indigene of Idiagbon Compound, Gbonje Okeho Oyo State.
He attended both A.U.D Primary School, Eeyele, Okeho and A.U.D High School, Okeho His late father Alhaji Shittu Danbaba was a business tycoon,and motor dealer.
Among the dignitaries at the occasion were Onjo chiefs, Baale Molete of Iseyin, Olori Olokaka, Sarkin-Hausawan Iseyin,Alh Sulaimon Usman, Sarkin-samari and the chairman Sarkin-samari of Oyo state Alhaji Ahmed Bello, Alhaji Basiru Mode-Sifawa and many well wishers.
