Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde has congratulated the new National Vice Chairman (South West) PDP Barrister Lukman Ajisafe who was elected at the recent South-West PDP meeting goes on Thursday in Ibadan. The meeting which held at the frontage of the Presidential Lodge, Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan had leaders of the PDP in the South-West in attendance including Engineer Seyi Makinde and his Osun State counterpart, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke.
The Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees and former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, and the acting Chairman of the South-West PDP, Chief Rahman Owokoniran, all commended the party leadership especially the governors of Oyo and Osun state for their model of leadership preaching unity as the veritable tool for the party’s progress in the region.
Governor Makinde expressed his happiness over the emergence of Ajisafe explaining the implication for the party. He further declared his readiness to work with the new leadership of the party. According to Governor Makinde, the PDP is now fully united in the South-West.
“The major outcome of this meeting is that, now, the South-West PDP is fully united and we have a new National Vice Chairman in Barrister Lukman Ajisafe. That is the outcome of the meeting, the governor announced.
Dignitaries in attendance former Governors Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Olusegun Mimiko, and the governorship candidate of the PDP in Ogun State in the 2023 general election, Hon. Ladi Adebutu. Other dignitaries in attendance at the event include serving and former deputy governors of Oyo State, serving and former lawmakers as well as party executives in the South-West and across the six states of the geopolitical zone.
