Alhaji Qasim Ajibiye, the Patron of Okeho Development Association(ODA), Kaduna Chapter is dead.
Late Ajibiye, a nonagenarian who was a business mogul and patriotic community leader died while praying in his residence in Hayah Bakin Kaduna on 14th July, 2024.
According to his biography, “he was born in 1933 to the family of Imam Issa Bibilari and Chief Munirat Ajibiye of Imam Compound,Bode, Okeho”.”Alhaji Ajibiye started his Primary School in 1942 at Native Authority Primary School,Olele, Okeho.At the same time he was learning Arabic and Islamic studies from Sheik Atiku Alawiye of Pakoyi Compound Gbonje, Okeho”.”He left for Ghana in 1950 with one Alhaji Aleem Olasupo where he learnt trading in motor cycle spare parts and tailoring.
On his graduation and return to Nigeria, he started his tailoring business at Onileodo Compound Olele, Okeho.”
He went back to Ghana in1962 and returned to Nigeria in 1965.On his return, he joined transport business and bought Peugeot 404 Pick -up van and a Peugeot 504 station wagon”.”He was combining this with tailoring until he moved to Northern part of the country to continue transport business”.”
Alhaji Ajibiye settled in Kaduna and he was a force to be reckoned with in transport business in the city during his life time.He also dealt in vehicle of various kinds both new and fairly used.
He also sold in installments payment , many indigenes of Okeho in Kaduna had benefited a lot from this”.”
A religious man,he went to holy land of Mecca for religious purpose in 1972.During his lifetime he was the President Ummantul Muslim Society Gidan Block,Kaduna and Chairman Hayan -Banki Muslim Society, Kaduna.
He was also a social man,he belonged to many social clubs and associations such as: Owooniran Social Club of Okeho,Ifeloju Social Club Okeho and Basiru Social Club, Kaduna”.”
At the home front he was very useful to the development of Okeho and Okeho agenda.He was the Patron of Okeho Development Association (ODA), Kaduna Branch.
“He wanted to see Okeho in the shortest future as a town where absolute peace shall reign and where politics shall be without violence and bitterness”.”
Alhaji Qasim Issa Ajibiye wanted to be remembered as a devout Muslim who contributed his quota to the development of humanity”.
